1999 Road Trip to First Landing State Park, Virginia

We had just brought our brandy new Lazy Daze RV home less than two weeks ago, but we were already antsy to get back on the road. It didn’t have to be a big trip—in fact, it couldn’t. We just wanted a few days to recapture that feeling of being on the road. Since our cross country trip had kept us inland, we decided to look for a place to camp near a beach. After all, it was late summer and we had done very little beaching as of yet. Herb came up with the idea for First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach, where he had camped practically right on the beach many years ago—in a previous life before wife and kids. I’m sure this trip was going to be a bit different than his last one. So we packed up the RV and headed south along the coast.
