2019 Fall Trip to the Eastern Sierra

September 28, 2019 - October 6, 2019

8 days 1,049 miles 5 stops

The gang setting off on their hike

Now that Andrew and Celeste were living in Bishop, we have a great place to use as a base camp for our Eastern Sierra adventures. Although they do return to the Bay Area frequently to go into their offices (from which they work remotely), it’s always nice to visit them on their new home turf and see how they are doing in a community very different from San Francisco. Let’s just say, they are thriving.

Hilda and Paul (Celeste’s parents and our dear friends) would be joining us for 5 days at Andrew and Celeste’s place for some be hikes and hopefully fruitful fishing. We all hoped we wouldn’t be overstaying our welcome, but the kids seemed to really enjoy having the Outlaws (their term for both sets of inlaws) stay with them.

After the 5 days in Bishop, the outlaws would set out in different directions - Hilda and Paul through Tuolumne Meadows, and Herb and I to the Alabama Hills.
